Samsung Galaxy S8 Review

 Samsung  Galaxy S8 Review

The Samsung Galaxy S8 was released in 2017. It's one of those products that's presented as a modern phone – and interestingly, even its design and performance don't differ dramatically from newer models .

 Design and build quality

The Galaxy S8 still impresses with its appearance today. Its slim, glass-and-aluminum body and
distinctive, curved Infinity Display give the phone a sleek and modern look. Even though several years have passed since its launch, the device still feels premium.

Screen

The 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution is another strong point of this model. The colors are vibrant, the contrast deep, and it's sufficient even on a sunny day. Samsung was already a master of screen production – and that's still evident today.

Efficiency

The S8 is powered by an Exynos 8895 processor (or Snapdragon 835, depending on the version) and 4GB of RAM. These aren't top-of-the-line components, but the phone handles tasks without issue. Browsing the internet, using social media apps, playing less demanding games, or watching videos presents no challenge. Of course, you'll notice slight stutters with more demanding apps, but this doesn't happen often.

Apparatus

The 12-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization still takes very good photos. In good lighting conditions, it captures detail and natural colors. I've also prepared a video showcasing the Samsung Galaxy S8's capabilities. You can find it  HERE.

Battery and software

The battery (3000 mAh) is the part that ages the fastest. The phone needs to be charged at least once a day.  The Android 9 operating system with OneUI 1.0 runs very smoothly.

Summary

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is an example of a phone that has aged gracefully. Despite its age, it's still a capable everyday device. With a great screen, solid build, and good performance, it's one of the best-preserved flagships of the past decade.

Pros:

  • timeless design

  • excellent Super AMOLED screen

  • good quality photos

  • smooth operation in basic tasks

Cons:

  • average battery (4 hours of hanging on the phone and the charger arrives)

  • no system updates, only custom ROM

  • fingerprint reader in an inconvenient place

Overall rating (2025): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5)
Galaxy S8 to a classic that, despite the passage of time, can be surprisingly effective and elegant.

Who would I recommend this phone to?

For people who are looking for a good phone at a low price
